That's mocap isn't it? If it isn't it seems odd that you refused to animate the hands xD

Im going to assume your animating useing mocap in witch case you should probably go in and add some poses to parts of the body you couldn't mo cap... just so there hands dont look like they have been stilted.

Facial animation seems a bit uncanny but im guessing that's more a limitation with mocap. But its completely passable.

All and all pretty nice.

Yeah look, fuck hands haha XD
Nah we just ended up running out of time for the due date and had to rush a few things.
All good learning though, there will definitely be things I change and keep in mind for next time.
Thanks for the feedback :)

Not bad at all :) i like it!

Thankcha!

ahh Good ol TF2 ... how i love you so.
very nicely done!

seems like a rather odd choice for newgrounds.... but its rather well done.

Not bad at all. good work... hope to see it refined into a neat little web series.

my Tip... MS Paint and Windows movie maker are LITERALLY the worst 2 programs to use for animation... Use Gimp for drawing the frames and Blenders Video editor.... both free programs.

Thanks, I will try them out :)

You seem to have a decent understanding of squash and stretch but i feel you need to study timing and spacing more.
this animation is about 20% slower then it should be given the amount of frames you have drawn and the Fact that Gravity typically pulls objects down faster then this.. unless this scene is taking place in a low gravity setting....

While you certainly can learn animation with poor drawing skills i feel you really need to study drawing a bit more in what seems to be a vector based imaging software.... more concisely i feel you arent completely comfortable with the animation software drawing tools.
ive seen some of your digital paintings and you seem to be passable enough to start doing some ok animations.... you just need to get better at drawing in this animation software.... whether its Flash, Toon boom or what ever.

generally speaking tackeling animation is a good way to get really good at drawing... because you are drawing at-least 15 frames per second in shorts that will often be several minutes. so while you should strive to improve both your animation and drawing quality. you can still try and tackle animated projects for fun and still improve quite a bit.

Anyway im rambleing. Keep it up! Hope to see you Sharpen your skills! Best of luck!

SubinAnimation responds:

Ya, you are absolutely right. Actually, flash doesn't give much of an option in drawing parts. my paintings are made in photoshop and do look very good. But because I am new to flash I am struggling with drawing.
and thanks for your feedback on that gravity thing you mentioned. I will try understand timing and spacing for the next animation.
TY.!

Technically speaking your animation is rather good for it being your first.
the premise can work.
My biggest Point of Criticism is that it is really uninteresting to watch.
it all takes place from the same camera position and the way the fish Die should be a little more varied for the purpose of keeping the viewer on there toes. this would also help your message as it would enforce the notion that death can happen anytime anywhere.

Try having more dynamic camera angles or at the very least change the camera a little bit. i know this is difficult to do in 2d animation but thats really no excuse not to try.

for example after the first fish got eaten maybe you could subvert the viewers expectation by having the fish Die in a way that contrasts that.
The scene might play out in the second one as he gets rejected he starts looking around in panic for a fish to come in an eat him but then an anchor falls on him slicing him in half or simply crushing him on the sea floor..

Get creative with it. Animation is a fun medium. Allow it to be fun.

Anyway Best of luck! Continue to work on what you love!

Thanks for the advice i really liked it

Wellp. Didn't see that coming XD well done man!

The biggest issue is your lighting... dark scenes are really difficult to do. But in general you still need to light your scene well enough that people can see your charecter....
It seems like you felt you needed to have you light sorce comeing from the torch alone ... you really dont... remember light bounces exist.. and trying to replicate them in 3d space can help you light your scene more clearly...

In general you should prioritize a good looking light scheme over an accurate one....

Best of luck!
