Dont get me wrong the animation is pretty fluid and well done... but it is by no means finished so i feel you should finish ut before it goes in the portal. So im afraid i have to give a low score.

My only complaint is you need to fill in the gaps in the outline.... im not really versed in vector based animstion but id assume you would do this bu haveing a rounded outline for the shape on the last layer... so that when it rotates around there is still an outline there... but idk id ask someone more versed on the topic how to do it.... otherwise pretty good.

i can tell you put effort into this.
and i could see you becoming pretty good at this but you really need to put you nose to the grind stone and work your tail off.

the general premise is... well ... not really funny.... relate-able sure. but i dont think thats enough on its own to carry a short. nor is relate-ability a joke on its on.

in general comedy is hard to critcize because its so subjective so take that witha grain of salt.

i would say put abit more effort into the actual animation... your drawings are passable, but i feel the lazy animation isn't doing you any favors and gets downright distracting.

the rule of thumb would be. if you have good writing or jokes you could get away with poor animation.
if you had good animation and poor writing... while it wouldn't be entertaining it would have merit from a technical standpoint... not to mention technical skill will come in handy with collaborations which naturally yield better project results.

if your going to be using the vector tools for animation you really need to use clean line work and solid drawings....
if you insist on having sketchy line work then you really should be animating this Frame by Frame.

think of it like a balance. if you want to save time animating by using vector tools then your drawings should really be Clean and solid.
if you want to save time drawing then you should put that time into the animation.

if your going to sacrifice quality somewhere you need to put that quality into some other area. otherwise it comes off as rather lazy.

im sorry but virtually nothing works about the animation. but a doubt any of our first animations worked very well.

i usually hate the Bone based Vector animation.
but you really put a lot of effort into it and it shows!
you really made it work.

however i feel that the shadows are a bit to soft..... more harsh shadows might work to this animations favor given the low lighting in the environment.

i also feel the 2d model could be a bit more detailed.

but those are honestly nitpicks.

overall Excellent job!

To my understanding the movie portal isnt intended for animation tests. Its for the final project. But i may have missread the Terms of Use.
I tend to just use gifs for tests.. as to not clutter the movie portal.

But overall your animation needs some work.
Its stiff and clunky... doesnt seem to flow at all.
You seem to rely way too much on your flash tools.
I would really recomend getting ok at animating frame by frame tests before attempting to use these time saveing tools in flash.
Because you clearly seem to be useing those tools as a suplement for actual animation. And you arent really gonna get a good final product like that.

Im not saying never use the tools... just use them only when you need to.
