its alittle flat.
i assume this is because you are thinking in terms of shape rather then form..... so i think this might be a good thing for you to look into improving... typically Sports cars, curvy robots, or very organic looking hard surface subjects are a good test of your sense of form... so id recommend trying to draw them to improve.. :) good luck my dude!

True; I have been making some deliberately serene GIFs lately, where you might not even notice it's moving at first. And if your internet is slow, then it IS a still image!

might be your best work yet.
the only thing to critcise would be that the mask looks flat. which i assume isn't the case.
an easy way to fix this would be with shading but you don't seem to be doing that here.

another way to imply form would be with your Line-work. hard to explain but i assume you get the picture.

I added a bit of shading... Wait I did right, editing this I had to take off detail and then add it on again since I screwed up layers. Pfft idm criticism. Her mask isn't that flat but its not really that curved and I get what you mean about lines.

the detailed limbs contrasts the simple face...there is nothing about her face that would imply she is a robot/puppet. it might work better if you simplified her robot parts more or added more detail to her face... in some way...

something about the design of her feet seems real clunky. like it could be refined into a better design compared to the other parts.
yeah it mimics the articulation in our foot... but is that much articulation really necessary? does it need soo many point of articulation?... does it need individual Toes.... seems like economically a hinge joint between the toes and foot would be just fine.... but thats more for puppets i guess.... might just be me though.



in general, from a design perspective it needs some work... but from a technical perspective id say its almost perfect.

thanks for the breakdown, i really appreciate stuff like this! i can see where youre coming from, but the idea is that the species isn't synthetic at all, just with intricate joints and such, since theyre born and grow from babies etc. so shes basically organic hard skin and black bone

i have a lot to brush up on though if i ever make a true robotic design, so ill take notes, thanks again!

from an animation standpoint i think you need to hold on some poses more...you hold on one pose but i think if you held on another pose longer aswell it might work better.... its rather hard to read as is.

plus you seem to have fallen into the trap of just warping drawings rather then animating them..... not inherently a bad thing as long as your warping seems to follow the body mechanics... which i personally dont feel they have here.

all and all pretty great!
